Based on these factors, we will help you decide which materials would work best for you:
- Natural material – pressure-treated, cedar, Ipe
- Composite – Trex, Timbertech, Evergrain
Once you’ve decided on your materials, D+G will prepare a detailed estimate of time and expense. Finally, upon contract signing, we will begin the permit process so that we can set a start date and schedule the job.
There are many variables in a deck/screened porch project (especially whether or not a permit is needed). Based on local jurisdictions, the county may require a drawing of the proposed deck/porch in order to issue a permit. D+G will manage the entire permit process for you. If outlets, fans, or lights will be included, an electrical permit is also required.
Once the building permit is obtained, we will dig footings and schedule inspections. With both a deck and porch, there are a number of inspections, starting with the footings and running through framing, electrical and final.
